Our Story – Dates
2001: We launched Rocket Science by joining together four individuals’ consultancy practices; based in Edinburgh and London, we started with 4 staff before quickly recruiting our first business manager.
2003: We started our 100th project – for North Ayrshire Youth
2006: Our first contract with the Department for Work and Pensions – about Pathfinder Training
2006: Commissioned by the London Development Agency to work on London’s Olympic bid envisioning what it would mean to “Live, Work and Visit” an Olympic capital in 2012 . . . and what the legacy could be
2007: Bob Forsyth (co-founder) moved on
2007: We started our 500th project – for North Lanarkshire Council
2007: Caroline Masundire joined as an Associate Director in our London office
2008: Cherri Blissett joined as a Senior Consultant and we opened our Newcastle office after a number of years working in the North East of England
2008: Willy Roe (co-founder) moved on
2008: We expanded to provide Grant Management services for the various co-financing organisations managing European Social Fund programmes
2009: We reached £10 million in turnover since our launch in 2001
2012: We worked on our first project specifically in Northern Ireland (previously we had worked in Northern Ireland as part of UK wide projects)
2015: Clare Hammond joined as a Senior Consultant in our Edinburgh office
2015: We expanded our offer into health and social care with work with our first piece of work with Audit Scotland
2020: Caroline, Cherri and Clare became Rocket Science Directors
2020: We have worked with more than 75 local authorities
2021: Change in ownership to Caroline, Cherri and Clare
2021: We celebrated our 20th birthday!
