About the role
We are looking for a confident and capable Grants Operations Manager to join our team and help to deliver high-quality grants management. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on experience of grant making, who is comfortable managing people and can hit the ground running. So could this be you?

You will be joining Rocket Science: a mission-driven consultancy working across the UK to reduce inequalities and improve lives. Since 2001, we have combined insight, evidence and empathy to help transform services and systems. We work on things that matter- employment and skills, health and social care, poverty and welfare, criminal justice, and community resilience – through research, evaluation, grant design and management.

You will play a key part in overseeing and delivering existing grant programmes, supporting the day-to-day running of our grant making operations – from assessments and grantee support to monitoring and reporting and manage our Grants Officer who will be working part-time (2 days/week). Skills and experience

We are looking for a Grants Operations Manager who

  • Brings varied experience of managing grants from end to end – assessments, due
  • diligence, client liaison and reporting
  • Is comfortable advising and implementing good practice in grant making
  • Has strong line management skills
  • Can support business development and has a commercial mindset
  • Is confident using grant management systems (ideally Blackbaud) and a quick learner of new tools and processes
  • Can juggle multiple priorities and projects, keeping quality and relationships at the centre of what they do
  • Understands what good grant making looks like and is committed to learning and improvement
  • Is organised, responsive, and brings strong attention to detail

Location: Hybrid / London Mostly home working with expectation to travel to regular in person meetings with clients and colleagues
Hours: Part-time (3 days/week – Wednesday to Friday)
Contract: 12-month contract (with possibility of extension)
Start date: January/February 2026
Salary: £37.5k to £49k pro rata
