Supporting businesses to recover from Covid-19 through business grants

Rocket Science is working with the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames to support Kingston-based businesses to consider what they need to do to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic strongly; explore how they can adapt to new working conditions or new challenges and opportunities such as tech, remote working, or changing customer needs; or to innovate through new products, services, or fresh thinking to boost performance or resource efficiency.

17 businesses have received grants of up to £25,000 following a competitive application process. Rocket Science worked closely with members of the Employment, Skills and Enterprise team to create a straightforward application process to design, develop and deliver the programme at pace, whilst continuing to provide dedicated 1-2-1 applicant support to engage small and medium local businesses still battling the effects of the pandemic. The process also had a parallel focus on taking advantage of the opportunities created from the ‘green economy’, looking to reduce emissions as well as costs.
