ABOUT
Rocket Science was
established in 2001.
We work across the UK, a business with a social purpose, registered in Scotland with teams based in London, Newcastle and Edinburgh.
OUR HISTORY
Founded
It was founded by Richard Scothorne, John Griffiths, Willy Roe and Bob Forsyth. Following a management buyout in 2021 and 2024, the business is currently owned by Caroline Masundire, and she is working with her leadership team towards an employee-owned business by 2030.
Our Journey
Rocket Science has seen fundamental shifts in equality, funding, health and wellbeing over the past 25 years. Surviving the dot.com bubble, recessions, austerity and the shifting tides of policy and national and international politics.
We have also witnessed growing poverty, exclusion, unemployment and inactivity, the challenges facing our young and older people and the emergence of AI and its potential impact on widening inequalities and work. We have worked across and with places, systems and communities.
What defines our work is our focus on the person, intersectionality and the compounding effects of inequality and impact on daily life and life chances.
We are unashamedly People-focused, People-centred, People-first, embedding lived experience that is trauma informed, ethical and drives systemic change by building capital, power and capability in people, communities and services.
We are and will continue to be collaborators, champions, allies and investors to help eradicate poverty in the UK.
