Dr Billy Bryan – Advisory Panel
Dr Billy Bryan is the Evaluation and Research Leader in the Science and Emerging Technologies (SET) team at RAND Europe, a not-for-profit policy think tank in Cambridge, UK. He is an experienced leader and manager (over 70 studies) with expertise in monitoring and evaluation, particularly theory-based approaches. His interests have spanned topics that include:
- space technology,
- green energy innovation,
- science and innovation advisory work,
- international development, and
- scientific decision making.
He has worked on projects for major national and international clients, including: the UK Space Agency, MoD, DESNZ (UK), UKRI (all entities), the European Commission, Wellcome, the British Council, FCDO, Nuffield Foundation, Royal Society and many more. He also leads evaluation training at RAND, having previously delivered training on theory based methods for the UK Government.
He is currently a member of the Government’s Evaluation and Trial Advice Panel (ETAP) under the Evaluation Taskforce, a trustee of Sussex Students’ Union, a former vice-chair of governors at a Brighton primary school, and an advisor to the Healthy Heart Trust. Billy holds a PhD in medical education, a postgraduate certificate in learning and teaching in higher education, and a degree in exercise science.
Little Weaknesses:
- Being very sloppy in my guitar playing technique.
- Buffets. I must try absolutely everything.
- Taking care of houseplants. I think I smother them!
