The Clothworkers’ Foundation Open Grants Programme

The Clothworkers’ Foundation improves the lives of people and communities – particularly those facing disadvantage and marginalisation – through grant making. The Foundation was set up in 1977 to be the primary vehicle of charitable giving for The Clothworkers’ Company.

Their Open Grants Programme accepts applications from UK registered charities or not-for-profits and who meet the eligibility criteria, for funding towards capital projects. The work of the organisation must fit within one or more of ten programme areas.

Rocket Science have been commissioned to support The Clothworkers’ Foundation over the next 6 months to manage the small grants strand of the Open Grants Programme. This provides grants of up to £15,000 to support capital items such as buildings; fittings, fixtures, and equipment; along with vehicles.

Rocket Science, was chosen as the grantmaking partner for the small grants strand of The Clothworkers’ Foundation Open Grants Programme

This is providing much needed support for the purchase, construction, renovation, or refurbishment of buildings; support for fittings, fixtures, and equipment and for vehicles which will benefits at least 50% of service users.

It has been really exciting and interesting to assess such a broad range of projects from community-led projects to those with income up to £10m.

These capital grants make such a difference and align with the mission of RocketScience to support inequalities.  Grantees are providing much needed services to people living with disabilities, who are homelessness, facing economic disadvantage, and racial inequalities amongst others.

We look forward to supporting over the next few months and adding value through our Funder Advisory and Management Services offer to improve efficiencies across systems and processes.
