Rocket Science is a policy, research and grant making organisation working across the UK from our offices in London, Edinburgh and NE England. We want to hear from people with the skills, experience, curiosity and commitment we need to join our team of 21 Rocket Scientists.

Established in 2001, we are a values-led organisation, working with our clients to help them deliver sustainable change to services that address inequalities and transform peoples’ lives. Increasingly our work spans many sectors, but we specialise in employment, education and skills, health and social care, poverty and housing and the charity sector.

We are expanding our consultancy and grant management teams and are looking for people who share our values of making a difference, being accessible and responsive to our clients’ needs, and enjoying what we do.

No day is the same at Rocket Science. Our portfolio of work is incredibly diverse and interesting, some of it at the vanguard of rethinking services and working with people and communities in different ways. We have specific expertise in research and analysis, service design and evaluation, and organisational and strategy development and review. At the heart of our work is helping our clients deliver the best outcomes for the people they help.

  • Associate Directors typically have at least five to ten years’ experience in a related field, not necessarily in consulting, but with the confidence and drive to develop business and markets and bringing exceptional added value to their work through their policy insights and strategic thinking.
  • Senior Consultants have a solid research or consultancy background, with strong project management skills, good communication, and an interest or experience in one or more of our sectors.
  • Senior Grant Officers have a strong background in working for a funder or grant-making organisation and a full grasp of the legal requirements of managing grants from application to evaluation.

You will be joining Rocket Science at an exciting time in our history as we grow and develop our markets. We have a strong commitment to developing and supporting our people and you will be joining a high performing, supportive and engaging team. We have been awarded Investors in People Gold and Investors in Young People Gold, accredited as a Real Living Wage employer, and we are a Mindful employer.
