Dundee and Angus College

With public funding for Colleges under strain, innovative Colleges are starting to look to increase their role in training, upskilling and certifying those already in employment. In late 2015, Rocket Science worked with Dundee and Angus College to develop a Customer Engagement Strategy, and undertake Market Research to help them to increase the services they deliver to businesses to train and certify their employees. This piece of work was funded by Skills Development Scotland and the College Development Network as a way to identify lessons, and a create template, that could be relevant to all Colleges in Scotland.

Research to research the changing pressures on Glasgow’s third sector workforce- including looking at the impacts of austerity, welfare reforms and other policy changes on employee wellbeing and workplace cultures.  We interviewed 163 workers from 71 organisations across Glasgow’s third sector about their experiences in the workplace, health, wellbeing, and work history, as well as changes and challenges facing the organisation.  The final report of this research is published online on the GCPH website.

Rural Enterprise Hub

Rural Enterprise Hub

Rocket Science conducted a feasibility study for East Durham College looking at the options for establishing a rural enterprise hub at their Houghall Campus near to Durham City.  The proposed hub would provide support both to rurally-based businesses in Houghall’s catchment area and to students wishing to develop business ideas.  We conducted analysis of labour market information and consulted with North East business support services, current students and other key stakeholders to produce a detailed feasibility study.
