Charities and Third Sector
Over a third of our work is focused on supporting charities and third sector organisations
Rocket Science has specialist expertise working directly for charities and third sector organisations.
We also help organisations that want to fund them including trusts, foundations, government and the private sector.
We help organisations to measure and demonstrate their impact and help them manage change.
We also help public organisations work more effectively through improved grant making and relationship management.
Supporting organisational effectiveness
We provide a range of services and support for charities of all sizes. From assessing their strengths and developing actions plans, through to providing one to one support to help them be more resilient.
Measuring and promoting impact
Now more than ever charities have to measure and promote their impact to funders, beneficiaries and the public. We help by developing practical ways to measure impact and offer Social Return on Investment analysis to help quantify it.
Improving investment
We help funders to evaluate their investment into charities as well as design new forms of funding and support. We also provide grant management services helping funders reach into communities and make the most of their investment.
Recent Projects
City Bridge Trust
The trust is the largest funder in London and has invested over £6million into testing new forms of giving. We conducted a review of this investment which culminated in a refreshed strategy and plan. This included continued support for scaling London’s Giving.
Barnsley Third Sector Review
Our work included a ‘state of the sector’ analysis on present and future third sector needs and a review of infrastructure support needs. We benchmarked provision in a range of other local authority areas and developed an outcomes framework to inform future investment.
Village SOS
Rocket Science provided support across the UK and delivered services in Scotland to help set up sustainable projects in rural communities. We conducted extensive research to understand the needs of voluntary and community groups and designed a programme to help over 450 groups.
